No Tolerance for Unjustified Hikes in Rice Prices
Hyderabad: State Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has warned traders and rice millers that the government will not tolerate any attempts to drive up rice prices through illegal hoarding or the creation of artificial shortages. He instructed officials to ensure that the price of BPT rice—a variety widely consumed by the public—does not exceed Rs 66 per kilogram. He further ordered that enforcement raids continue until prices stabilize. The Minister issued these directives during a review meeting with Civil Supplies Department officials at his camp office in Kundanbagh, Hyderabad, on Friday.
