Palak Paneer Controversy: Indian Students Receive ₹1.80 Crore Compensation
Indian Ph.D. students Aditya Prakash and Urmi Bhattacharya, who faced discrimination at the University of Colorado in the US, have won their legal battle. In 2023, while they were heating palak paneer on campus, staff members objected to the smell. The dispute escalated to the point where their degrees were withheld, leading them to approach the court. As a result, the university paid them approximately ₹1.80 crore in compensation and also awarded them their Master's degrees.
