A heartbreaking news has emerged from IIT Kanpur. A final-year B.Tech student hanged himself in his hostel room. He hadn't left his room for three days. On the third day, a foul smell began to emanate from the body and blood began to flow from the door. Fellow students then informed the IIT management, only to discover the truth. Dheeraj, 23, was a resident of Mahendragarh, Haryana, and a final-year B.Tech student in electrical engineering. This is the seventh suicide at IIT Kanpur in the past 22 months. The IIT also has a counseling team, but given the recent incidents, the counseling team appears to have failed. Blood began to flow as the body decomposed. According to fellow students, Dheeraj had been silent for the past few days and had been confined to his room for three days. When a foul smell emanated from the room and the body hanging from the rope was bleeding from the door, the IIT administration was informed. The IIT administration informed the Kalyanpur police station. Kalyanpur police arrived at the scene, broke open the door, and found Dheeraj's body hanging from a noose. The body had decomposed significantly. Police did not find any suicide note at the scene. Dheeraj was the youngest of three siblings. Dheeraj was the youngest of three siblings.
