Relief on Oil
Washington: Concerns that the U.S. might impose exorbitant tariffs on India—citing its purchase of oil from Russia—have been laid to rest. U.S. President Trump has temporarily set aside the implementation of a law that would have imposed tariffs of up to 100% and other sanctions on countries purchasing oil and petroleum products from Russia. He announced that this exemption is being granted in the interest of U.S. national security and stated that a report regarding this decision has been submitted to the U.S. Congress.
