Renewed Popularity for Small Cars
A distinct shift is visible in the domestic car market this year. Small cars, which had gradually lost their prominence over the past decade, are regaining popularity. Demand for these vehicles is steadily rising, particularly in rural markets and among first-time car buyers. This trend is evidenced by the year-on-year sales growth recorded in May for Maruti Suzuki’s small cars: a 90% increase for the Alto, 254% for the S-Presso, and 62% for the Celerio.
