Renowned Mountaineer Nirmal Purja Dies Tragically
Renowned mountaineer Nirmal Purja has passed away. He died after being struck by an avalanche while climbing Broad Peak in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Broad Peak is known as the 12th highest mountain in the world. At the time of the accident, Purja was leading a 10-member mountaineering team. An avalanche struck them on Thursday afternoon, severing contact with the group. It has now been confirmed that all members have perished.
