Rs 500 Crore Loss to Electricity Department
Amaravati: Preliminary estimates indicate that the Electricity Department has suffered a loss of Rs 500 crore due to the impact of Cyclone Arnab. Electricity Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar stated that the total loss could increase further once a comprehensive assessment is completed. The cyclone caused severe damage to substations, power lines, and electricity poles. Officials reported that approximately 551 substations (33/11 KV) and 519 feeders (33 KV) were damaged across the North Andhra and Godavari districts.
