Saraswati Devi Temples in the Telugu States
On Vasant Panchami, Saraswati temples in the Telugu states are overflowing with devotees. The Basara Gnana Saraswati temple in Nirmal district of Telangana is famous for Aksharabhyasam (initiation into learning). The Vargal Vidya Saraswati temple in Siddipet (district) is also very significant. In Andhra Pradesh, on Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada, the goddess appears in the form of Saraswati Devi on the festival day. Special prayers are also offered at the Mukteshwara temple in Medak (district) and the Hemavati temple in Anantapur (district).
