'Second-hand Smoking' Proves Fatal
Health experts warn that it is not just smokers whose lives are at risk; those who inhale the smoke exhaled by smokers are also losing their lives. Reports indicate that approximately 320,000 people died in 2023 after inhaling cigarette smoke present in the air. Several prominent figures from the medical and health sectors participated in a webinar organized by the 'Tobacco Free India' organization on Friday, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary. Experts expressed concern over the fact that 170 million deaths worldwide have been attributed to second-hand smoking.
