In a one-sided Group D encounter on Tuesday, India thrashed South Africa 6–1. Sitting at the top of the table with four points, the Indian women have bolstered their chances of securing a spot in the second round. Toppo (11th minute), Navneet Kaur (17th), Sushila Chanu (25th), Deepika (38th), Lalremsiami (44th), and Sakshi Rana (45th) scored a goal each. Kayla de Waal (55th) scored the lone goal for South Africa.
