Stockyard on steel lands worth Rs. 2,977 crore
The ‘National Mineral Development Corporation’ (NMDC) will set up an iron ore blending plant on the lands of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The construction responsibilities of this, which is being called a buffer stockyard, were handed over to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on Saturday. The project cost is Rs. 2,977 crore. For this, NMDC has taken 1,167 acres from the steel plant on a 33-year lease.
