Stopping gas production: Qatar
Qatar has announced that it is stopping the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and related products. ‘We are stopping the process of converting gas into liquid. We will not be able to produce and export supercooled gas for a month,’ Reuters reported. Qatar accounts for 20% of global LNG exports. The latest decision will have a serious impact on India, Japan, China and Europe. Gas prices have already increased in Europe and Asia.
