Supreme Court issues notices to Centre and DGCA over increase in airfares
The Supreme Court commented that airlines are engaging in exploitation by increasing airfares during festive seasons. A bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta heard a petition filed seeking to regulate the increase in fares by private airlines. They clarified, "We will definitely intervene in this matter." Notices were issued to the Centre and DGCA seeking their replies.
