Amidst tensions in the Middle East, the center has taken a key decision on LPG. It has made it clear to oil marketing companies that gas cylinders should be supplied mainly to domestic consumers. It has issued orders to IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL. It has imposed temporary restrictions on gas supply to commercial, industrial, and petrochemical sectors. It is reported that this decision has been taken so that there is no disruption in LPG supply to the general public.
