The Earth’s Declining Health
New York: Just as certain key indicators are used to assess whether the vital systems in our bodies are functioning properly, there are 16 "vital signs" used to gauge the health of the Earth. A study by researchers at Oregon State University in the United States has revealed that seven of these indicators have reached record-high levels—higher than ever before. It has been found that energy-related carbon emissions have surpassed 41 gigatonnes for the first time in history.
