TMC funds of 440 crores frozen
The Trinamool Congress (TMC), which was torn apart after its defeat in the West Bengal assembly elections, has suffered another setback. The police have frozen the party's funds worth Rs. 440 crore. The party has cash balances of Rs. 676.11 crore in its bank accounts. However, the splinter group claims that the real TMC belongs to them and that they will get the assets including the party symbol. 10 MLAs of this splinter group led by Ritabrata Banerjee have filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police to freeze these reserves.
