US's Secret Route in Hormuz
The US and Iran are engaging in a strategic game of one-upmanship to gain the upper hand in the region. While Iran had blocked the Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for US attacks, it has come to light that the US devised a new strategy to secretly move oil tankers from Persian Gulf nations through the strait. Iran had calculated that blocking oil exports from the Persian Gulf would drive up global prices and force the US to back down; however, it turned out that massive quantities of oil were being transported out right under Iran's nose.
