Varuna Yagam at Tirumala Starting the 30th
Tirumala: TTD has decided to conduct a five-day 'Varuna Yagam' (a ritual to invoke rain) at Tirumala, praying for abundant rainfall. With forecasts indicating below-normal rainfall this year due to the El Niño effect, the ritual has been scheduled under the auspices of the Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham to seek widespread rainfall and avert water scarcity across the country. As part of this initiative, the Yagam will be performed at the Veda Vignana Peetham from August 30 to September 3, in the presence of the chief officiant and Vedic priests.
