Where is the path to ‘Elementary Education’?
Amaravati: While the state government announces the DSC (District Selection Committee) recruitment drive annually, there seems to be no clear path for pursuing elementary-level teacher training in the state. Although thousands of candidates are interested in the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed.) course, they are left disappointed due to the scarcity of available seats. This year, 17,632 candidates applied for the DEECET exam. Of these, 14,093 appeared for the entrance test, and 11,303 qualified.
