Doctors recommend walking 10,000 steps a day, and many people worry about not being able to reach this goal. However, a new study has found that older women can reduce their risk of premature death and heart disease by walking just 4,000 steps a day or two a week. Walking 4,000 steps or more more days a week is associated with better health outcomes, the study found.
