Hyderabad: Former Minister Harish Rao alleged that a massive scam worth ₹2,000 crore took place in the Education Department involving contractors from Gujarat. He claimed that the reopening of schools was postponed solely to facilitate contracts and commissions. They stated that during the BRS regime, the responsibility for stitching uniforms for residential and government schools was entrusted to handloom weavers, while the task of manufacturing shoes and belts was assigned to LIDCAP to support the livelihoods of Dalit families. They lashed out at CM Revanth Reddy for centralizing these processes and handing the contracts over to a contractor from Gujarat.
