A boost for the common man's 'budget' from Nirmala Sitharaman?
Real estate experts are urging that 'affordable housing' be given a boost in the upcoming budget. There is a demand to increase the current price limit of ₹45 lakhs to ₹75 lakhs or even ₹95 lakhs. They are appealing for tax concessions and incentives for rental housing, stating that while luxury home sales are increasing, owning a home is becoming unaffordable for the common man. They are also requesting that the home loan interest exemption be increased to ₹5 lakhs.
