A Visual Spectacle: The Float Festival
Srikalahasti: As part of the annual celebrations of the Kumaraswamy Temple—situated on Vignanagiri hill and affiliated with the Srikalahastiswara Temple—a spectacular float festival (*Teppotsavam*) was held on Friday night. Lord Kumaraswamy, accompanied by his consorts Valli and Devasena, was first elaborately adorned in the *Alankara Mandapam* and then escorted to the Narada Pushkarini (temple tank) amidst auspicious music and traditional drumbeats. The deities were then seated on a decorated float and taken for a ceremonial ride across the waters of the tank. The special electric lighting arrangements around the temple tank, set up for the *Teppotsavam* (float festival), were a visual delight.
