Arbitrary collection of ICU charges is not allowed: Centre
The Centre has instructed private hospitals that emergency treatment is a responsibility and should not be seen as an opportunity for financial exploitation. It said that ventilator and ICU charges should be publicly displayed. It ordered that charges should be collected only for the time oxygen/ventilator was used. The ventilator industry market value was recorded at 207 million USD in 2024. The Centre took this decision as there is a chance of further increase in the future.
