Ban on the use of power banks on flights
The DGCA has banned charging devices using power banks during air travel due to the risk of fire caused by lithium batteries. In a recent circular, it stated that power banks and portable chargers can potentially cause fires on aircraft. It warned that it is especially difficult to detect smoke or flames when these are placed in overhead bins, posing a serious threat to flight safety.
