Center approves increase in medical seats
Ashwini Vaishnav revealed that the Union Cabinet has approved the expansion of medical education in the country. It has agreed to increase the number of UG and PG medical seats. It has approved 5,000 new PG and 5,023 MBBS seats under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme-3. Up to Rs. 1.50 crore will be allocated for each seat. Through this scheme, assistance will be provided for the renovation of Govt medical colleges and hospitals and the path will be paved for the entry of specialist doctors.
