Supreme Court Calls for Performance Review of High Court Judges
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday expressed deep dissatisfaction over the performance of some high court judges. It said that they are ‘not able to handle the workload and achieve the targets’. Therefore, it opined that their ‘performance needs to be evaluated’. It advised them to ensure that files do not pile up on their desks. The bench made this observation while hearing a petition filed alleging that the Jharkhand High Court, which heard the final arguments on their appeals in a criminal case, has not respected the verdict for years.
