Deluge in Chitrakoot
Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh, is experiencing its heaviest rainfall in two decades. The Mandakini River is flowing at a height of 13 meters, well above the danger mark. Consequently, houses, hotels, buildings, and temples along the border of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have been submerged. People have climbed onto the roofs of tall buildings and are awaiting assistance. A section of the 300-meter-long bridge connecting Ramghat and Hanuman Dhara in Nayagaon has been washed away, bringing traffic and movement to a standstill.
