Egypt is set to join the ‘Mecca Collective Defense Agreement’—an accord established by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye with the aim of creating a NATO-style security arrangement. Türkiye’s Foreign Minister announced on Saturday that Egypt would soon become a partner in the Mecca Agreement. It was stated on this occasion that more countries would also become part of this agreement in the future.
