England's Resounding Victory Over the Kiwis
London: England achieved a resounding 115-run victory over New Zealand in the first Test. Chasing a target of 254 runs, the Kiwis' innings collapsed for just 138 runs on the fourth day (Sunday). Only Phillips (44) and Conway (41) put up a notable performance. Atkinson claimed five wickets, while Robinson and Tongue took two wickets each. Earlier, England scored 140 runs in their first innings and 226 in the second, while the Kiwis scored 113 runs in their first innings.
