European nations refuse to impose additional tariffs on India: US Treasury Secretary
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently revealed that European nations rejected a proposal to impose additional tariffs on India and China for purchasing Russian oil. He questioned why the US should bear the entire burden of bringing Russia into line, noting that European countries themselves continue to purchase Russian energy products. He added that he had personally requested his European allies to help increase economic pressure on Russia, but received no response.
