Mumbai: Bhiwandi police have arrested Salamat Ali Ansari, a dangerous psycho killer who, after escaping from court, had once again targeted innocent girls in the city. On the afternoon of October 1st, the 7-year-old daughter of a couple who supported their family by working as laborers in the Nizampura police station area of ​​Bhiwandi, left her home to relieve herself. At that time, Salamat Ali, the accused, who had escaped from court, lured the girl into his room with wafers. According to the police, the accused brutalized the girl so much that no part of her body was left unharmed. He then murdered the innocent girl, stuffed her body in a sack, locked it in the room, and fled. When the girl did not return home by evening, the family began searching for her. People in the neighborhood found the accused's room locked from the outside, and upon peeping through the window, they saw the girl's mug. Suspicious, the lock was broken and the scene inside horrified everyone. Identification of the accused and police action The family immediately rushed the body to Indira Gandhi Hospital, where doctors informed the police. Police arrived at the scene and questioned the parents, and when shown a photograph of the absconding psycho killer, Salamat Ali, they immediately identified him. In fact, Salamat Ali is the same accused who brutally murdered a 6-year-old girl in Bhiwandi in September 2023. At that time, he was arrested from Bihar and sent to Thane jail. However, on August 4, 2025, while being brought to the Bhiwandi court for hearing, he evaded police and escaped. Arrest and Further Investigation Following the incident, several Bhiwandi police teams were activated and the accused was apprehended late at night. He underwent a medical examination and was produced in the Bhiwandi court on Friday, where the court remanded him to police custody until October 8, 2025. The Nizampura police station is now conducting a detailed investigation into the case.
