Mumbai: Even a simple home-cooked meal is becoming a burden for the common man. A survey has revealed that the cost of home-cooked food is rising due to the increasing prices of essential commodities. The 'Rice-Roti Rate' report for September, released by the prominent rating agency CRISIL, indicates that the cost of a vegetarian meal has surged by 10% compared to last year. It cited the sharp rise in the prices of onions, cooking oil, rice, and LPG gas as the primary reasons for this increase.
