Huge explosion at fireworks factory
A massive explosion occurred at a fireworks factory in Pettalupatti near Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred due to sparks in a room where tins of chemicals for making fireworks were stored. The explosion leveled one room. The fire also spread to crackers kept in the surrounding rooms. As the fire spread, the fire brigade tried hard with three fire engines to extinguish them. The fire was not brought under control till evening. One person was injured in the accident.
