Center to increase OBC income limit
The Center has clarified that there is no plan to increase the creamy layer income limit for OBC reservations. Generally, if the income is more than the prescribed limit, reservations in government education and employment will not be available. The last time the limit was increased from Rs. 6 lakh in 2017 to Rs. 8 lakh. The deadline for the increase in 2020 and 2023 has already expired. It seems that the Center does not agree that increasing this limit will make it difficult for poor OBC communities to compete in reservations.
