British economist Spencer Dale has predicted that India will surpass all countries in oil consumption by 2050. He said that this will be more than 12% of global energy consumption. While Indian oil demand is currently 5.4M barrels per day, it will reach 9.1M bpd by 2050. He also said that natural gas consumption will double.
