Lord Ganesha Waits for the Waters!
Putlur: These are idols of Lord Ganesha waiting for water. After receiving prayers at various *pandals* on the day of Vinayaka Chavithi, the idols were brought for immersion, but they were left stranded without the embrace of the ‘Mother’ (water). While it has been raining across the state for the past two days, the situation in Anantapur district is different. There is not a drop of water in the tank at the Putlur mandal headquarters. Consequently, the Vinayaka idols—brought for immersion on the 16th of this month—were still seen waiting for water on Wednesday.
