No Hike in Petrol and Diesel Prices: Centre
New Delhi: The Central Government has refuted reports circulating in the national media suggesting that petrol and diesel prices in the country are likely to be hiked immediately after the conclusion of the ongoing Assembly elections in several states. It was clarified that there is currently no such proposal and that petrol prices will not increase. In fact, reports emerged on Wednesday—citing a report released by the stock market brokerage firm Kotak Institutional Equities—suggesting that petrol and diesel prices could be hiked by Rs 25 to Rs 28 per liter after the 29th of this month.
