Rajanna Tong: 'I have no desire to become president'
Bengaluru, December 24: DCM DK Shivakumar and KN Rajanna have discussed the issue of the post of Apex Bank President several times and have not been able to reach any consensus. In this context, CM Siddaramaiah has now appointed an Administrative Officer (AO) for Apex Bank. In this way, DK Shivakumar has been given a counter. The responsibility of the Cooperative Department remains with Siddaramaiah, and the work has been entrusted to CM Additional Secretary Ziaullah.
Ziaullah took charge as the Administrator of Apex Bank on Tuesday evening. With this, the selection of the post of Apex Bank President has become even more complicated.
MLC Ravi, a relative of DCM DK Shivakumar, is an aspirant for the post of Apex Bank President.
Rajanna taunts DK Shivakumar
Reacting at CM Nivas Kaveri regarding DK Shivakumar's statement that it was me who made Rajanna the president of Apex Bank, Rajanna said, "I was the president during SM Krishta's time. DK Shivakumar may or may not have had cooperation. If you help, it is my quality to feel appreciated. DK Shivshi was the Minister for Cooperation at that time, then it was help. Those who helped us the most at that time were Jalappa, Basavaraju, Param Hanada. He said that on the election day, he convinced SM Krishna and made me the president.
Earlier, Siddaramaiah also made me the president. That post should be selected by the directors there, not the government. Rajanna taunted that 21 people should select us and make us the president on the advice of the people.
Responding to a question whether DK Shivakumar had raised an old issue in the midst of the leadership crisis, Rajanna said, "The country knows the old issue, I will not forget who helped me."
Commenting on the meeting with the high command leaders, he said, "It is normal to meet the high command leaders when I go to Delhi. I have no desire to become the chairman of the apex bank. I have not spoken to CM Siddaramaiah about it."
