Record Price for Oil Palm: Rs 23,656 Per Tonne in April
Oil palm farmers received a record-high price for their produce in April. The price for a tonne of fresh oil palm fruit bunches was recorded at Rs 23,656. Srinivasulu, Director of the Department of Horticulture, stated on Saturday that this marks the highest price ever recorded in the history of the oil palm sector. The net price for fresh fruit bunches increased following the determination of specific parameters for the period spanning from November 2025 to October 2026 (the designated 'Oil Year'): an oil extraction ratio of 20.01 percent, a kernel extraction ratio of 10.08 percent, and an average price of 15.05 percent per tonne of crude oil.
