Former CSK player Ashwin expressed his disappointment over the team's consecutive three-match losing streak in the IPL. He lamented that he should not have announced his retirement back in the previous season. He stated that he made that decision out of faith in the team; otherwise, he would have played in this season as well. He explained that he wanted to avoid causing any inconvenience to the management and felt that his departure would save the franchise ₹10 crores. He further clarified that he had to bid farewell primarily due to mental fatigue.
