The Persistent Addiction to Sanitizer
Vijayawada: Individuals who developed a taste for sanitizer to get intoxicated when alcohol was unavailable during the COVID-19 outbreak have not yet kicked the habit. They are consuming it in large quantities because it is cheaper than standard liquor brands. Due to a lack of official oversight, shopkeepers are selling it rampantly without issuing bills. Officials from the Drug Control Department discovered that approximately 75,000 bottles were sold over the past three years across three shops owned by a single individual in Vijayawada.
