Women's Green Army to protect villages
The Green Army, formed by women for cleanliness and awareness in the villages of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is carrying out many social reforms. This movement, started by a man named Ravi Mishra in 2015, has spread to 22 districts. Currently, there are 2,200 women in this army. They help in controlling domestic violence and anti-social activities. They also get employment by making slippers and linen bags. PM Modi also acknowledged and congratulated their efforts.
