The Amarnath Yatra, located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, is set to commence on July 3rd. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced that this pilgrimage, spanning 57 days, will conclude on August 28th. He stated that the inaugural prayers—performed to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva—will be conducted on June 29th, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Jyeshtha Purnima. Registration for the pilgrimage opens on the 15th of this month. Due to the challenging terrain and high altitude of 3,882 meters, children under the age of three and individuals over the age of 70 are not permitted to undertake this pilgrimage to the holy shrine.
