An 'Aadhaar'-like system in Britain?
UK PM Starmer wants to bring an Aadhaar-like system to the UK. It is said that Aadhaar has been taken as inspiration for its digital identity program ‘Brit Card’. However, it is reported that this system will be used to arrest illegal migrant workers, not for welfare and services like in India. During his visit to Mumbai, Starmer met with those who played a key role in the design of Aadhaar.
