Auto-rickshaw meter: ₹30 for the first 1.6 km
Hyderabad: The stage is set for a hike in auto-rickshaw meter fares in the state. Auto drivers had repeatedly appealed to the government to raise fares in light of rising costs. Consequently, the Transport Department prepared proposals regarding the fare hike and submitted a report to the government. The committee has proposed increasing the minimum auto-rickshaw fare from the current ₹20 to ₹30. A new tariff has been proposed, charging ₹30 for the first 1.6 kilometers and ₹14 for every subsequent kilometer.
