COVID-19 Resurgence in the US
Washington: Just as the US was breathing a sigh of relief thinking the coronavirus had subsided, the pandemic is striking again with new characteristics. According to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 cases (involving variants such as KP.3.1.1, KP.3, KP.2, and LB.1) are rising across 48 states. The severity of cases is somewhat higher in nine states. A reassuring aspect, however, is that the number of hospitalizations due to the virus is significantly lower compared to the past.
