CBSE New Curriculum: Study of 3 Languages Now Mandatory
CBSE has released the curriculum framework set to be implemented starting from the upcoming academic year (2026-27). The board has made the 'Three-Language Formula' (studying three languages) mandatory from Class 6 onwards. Of these, two must be Indian languages. English will be treated as a foreign language. Additionally, a 'two-level system' is being introduced for Mathematics and Science. As part of this system, appearing for a common examination worth 80 marks is mandatory. An advanced-level examination, carrying an additional 25 marks, will also be available; however, this is optional.
