Copper Prices Hit Record High
New Delhi: Copper prices are skyrocketing. At one point this month, the price of copper per tonne on the London Metal Exchange (LME) reached a record high of $14,737 (approximately ₹14.07 lakh). This represents an increase of nearly 50% compared to the same period last year. The Indian Primary Copper Producers Association (IPCPA) attributed this surge primarily to reduced copper ore extraction, concerns regarding US tariffs, and a significant rise in imports.
