Flood Diversion Measures in Place to Prevent Impact
Amaravati: In the wake of the experiences faced last year in the management of Krishna water, the state water resources department is preparing a special operation. It is trying to reduce the flow speed by diverting the floodwaters into the reservoirs built on the Krishna river. As part of this, Krishna water is being diverted from Pothireddypadu to Rayalaseema. It is being released into the sea from Pulichintala through the Prakasam barrage. Thus, measures are being taken to ensure that the flood does not affect the barrage or the low-lying areas of Vijayawada.
